Kaseye Girls Secondary School is a Grant-Aided National Secondary School located in
TA Mwabulambia in Chitipa District under the Diocese of Karonga of the Roman
Catholic Church.
The
school is looking for well qualified individuals to fill the following post on
a one-year contract basis and subject to renewal based on performance;
1. SCHOOL SECRETARY (1 POST)
The secretary shall provide all secretarial and
administrative services which will enable other officers accomplish their tasks
in an efficient, effective and professional manner.
The secretary is responsible to the Headteacher.
The
applicant must be;
- a holder of a secretarial certificate or certificate
in information and communication technology in addition to an MSCE certificate.
Those with a diploma in secretarial studies or ICT will have an added
advantage.
- not more than 40 years old
- good in both spoken and written English.
- communicate professionally to different categories of
people
- able to use modern information and communication
technologies like internet, emails and equipment like printers and photocopiers
- ready to work even at odd hours when need arises
Key
Responsibilities include;
- handle
phone calls, emails and correspondence and school messages and services in a
cautious and professional manner.
- maintain
students and school records and ensure their confidentiality.
- act
as a role model for students in behaviour, attire and professional grooming.
- supporting
and implementing school regulations, policies procedures and accepted
practices.
- support
examination administration
- cleaning
the assigned offices
- assisting
in the organisation and planning of meetings and school events e.g., board, management,
recruitment, graduation, trainings, etc.
- provide
all secretarial services to the school
- any other duties assigned from time to time
NB: Females are encouraged to apply, and those with
experience will have an added advantage
2. MATRON (1 POST)
The main responsibility of a School Matron is to look after students in
all spheres. The Matron reports to the Deputy Headteacher (Administration) and
the Boarding Masters/Mistresses.
The
applicant must;
- be a holder of a JCE certificate. Those with MSCE will
have an added advantage
- be honest, alert, sober, accountable, mentally and
physically fit
- have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- at least 2 years of experience as a Matron
- be ready to cooperate with the guidelines of
safeguarding children especially girls and vulnerable adults
- be aged between 30 and 45 years
- be able to communicate in English (both verbally and
written)
Keye
Responsibilities include;
- supervise
and care for boarding students
- manage
dormitories and ensure cleanliness
- administer
and store basic drugs and medicine and offer first aid to students in the sick
bay.
- making
sure that students keep time for all school activities.
- reporting
any unusual behaviors or observations to the administration.
- allocating
students to each hostel, room and bed /mattress
- preparing
a sick list register and displaying the same in the staff-room and Deputy
Headteacher Officers.
- organizing
and supervising the cleaning of hostel, toilets, ablution blocks and the
assembly hall. This is done by assigning
a duty roster to all students
- act
as a role model for students in behavior, attire, and professional grooming.
- offer
guidance and counseling to students
- any
other duties as assigned from time to time.
